Blog Giveaway! Masters Art Quilts Vol. 2

This whole week, I've been hit by a bad case of the blues....being sideswiped by something which I never thought would happen ....I've been feeling so "yuck" about it (and scared and worried--and no, it doesn't directly relate to my health), I decided it was time to do something good for someone else.

You see, I often find that the best pick me up is to do something for someone else....maybe that's the real reason for Karma....but I find that it is pretty much instantaneous, not something I'm going to find out in a future life...or maybe I will...

Back in December, I got a copy of Master's Art Quilts Vol 2 sent to me to review by Lark Books.....but I had already enthusiastically reviewed it on Sept. 7, 2011 soon after it was released.  I enjoyed it then....so much so that I ordered a copy to be sent to a friend of mine in Connecticut.  I really enjoyed this copy and was happy to add it to my collection of art books.  I also find it useful to show friends when I want to make a point about art quilting.  It's especially wonderful because it has quilts from people you haven't necessarily heard of as many of the artists are from overseas.

While I wrote a review, I think Elizabeth Barton wrote the best review of this particular volume.  You can read it here.  Of course, I think very highly of Elizabeth Barton anyway, but this is truly insightful and well written.  I have to say, Elizabeth Barton intimidates me in every possible way!  She's just that good.

But (not surprisingly) I digress.  So....if you leave a comment here,  I will have random number generator pick a number on January 25th and will contact the person through my blog to get the shipping information. Yes, this is a brand new book...never read...just supplied by Lark Books.  :) One comment per customer please.

So, good luck!

P.S.  Since someone here put a comment linked to an "album" which was actually a website selling stuff....heres fair warning:  If you use a comment to redirect or sell something to one of my readers without MY permission or a resource that I have reviewed ON MY BLOG , your comment will be deleted.  If you have an online-store, leave a comment with your PERSONAL link, NOT your website as I consider this a Hijacking.  lbq 1/23/2012

I would really like to have this book. I could use a BIG pick-me-up since it looks like this pheumonia will not go away any time soon.

I liked your idea of sharing this book with individuals who may not understand the world of art quilting. That would be perfect for me. Thank you for giving your readers a chance to win this book. PS...Karma..a favourite quote of mine is "Karma will get you."

Hello Lisa- I'm sorry your feeling "bluh" this week. When I am feeling down my favorite thing to do is get together with friends and have a wine (whine) and cheese party. This always makes us feel better. You are welcome to contact me to commiserate should you need an ear. =) Laura (via quilt art)
PS that book looks fun, I always enjoy reading about new artists.

You make this book sound so inviting! Thank you for reviewing it and for the give-away.

Ugh, I, too, live in the frozen north and so often deal with blues and blahs in the winter. The incessant gray makes me blue. I hope you feel better soon!

Have a cup of tea....that is what a friend says about everything that is "blue". I must say, it helps me. Enjoy your tea and feel better.

I came within a whisker of winning this at Christmas and I really, really wanted it. I do love eye candy! I hope you are soon feeling a much lighter shade of blue.

It is definitely that time of year for the blues. A long walk and then a tasty hot toddy (with or without the alcohol) and a really funny book like those by Janet Evanovich are great pick-me-ups. Maybe they'll do for you too. Take care Mary Ann

So kind of you! I've had a touch of the blues myself. . . started a few days ago and I'm not sure why. BUT, this too shall pass. Thanks for giving away this wonderful book!

Hmm... Just saw this book at Joann's and got very interesting in buying it until I saw the price. I have the first one and would really like to have this second one. There's so much creativity in these books that my mind is a swim with ideas. I'd just like this book in my library.

I would love to win this book! I don't have nearly enough books, especially books on art quilts! I hope you're out of your blue mood soon, and if not, you are in good company. Winter does that to people around here. Thank you for the giveaway!

Would love the chance...to sit in front of a fire and peruse master art quilts.

Feeling under? May I suggest Keri Smith's blog at http://www.kerismith.com/ for some inspiration. Especially love the artists' survival kit on the right hand sidebar.

Hi Lisa, When I'm blue I call a friend and after we've each had time to talk - it gets me out of just focusing on my life and I feel supported. (Pretend we're all at your house with a cup of tea or glass of wine...and we don't care if your house is clean!)
Thanks for sharing your abundance. Lorri from Art Camp for Women
